Compare and Contrast

You guys need practice (and I need to grade a million blogs before Friday)!

For this week I would like you to choose a topic that interests you - whether it be sports, school, coaches, teams, etc. and work on evaluating your answer, being VERY specific with facts to back-up your responses.

For example, I think the Yankees are better than the Red Sox, but can I say that stands true for last year? No, the Red Sox (Dead Sox) won the World Series whereas the Yankees were lucky to even finish off the year. Overall the Yankees are better than the Red Sox in terms of championship wins...but then my question/statement would have to read: The Yankees are better than the Red Sox in terms of the number of years winning those titles. Does this make sense? I would have to dig deep into researching why exactly the Yankees performed better - was it their pitching, coaching, batters, etc.

What makes the coach for the Lakers better than the coach for the Celtics? You would have to look at the number of years each coach has worked with their teams, the number of wins, where did each team finish in that division, etc. Hard core facts of what makes this compare and contrast blog true.

Please do NOT give me a simple simon answer - take this seriously. It is definitely different than your other blogs because you are free to choose your own topic. The one main issue you all had across the board with your Annotated Bibliographies was the lack of specificity along with comparing and contrasting your authors.

Have fun!

Oh!!! I will be updating the Alaska blog with your e-mails and you may be posting to that soon as a test.

On this blog, the topic that i will be comparing is related to Social Network. I will be comparing two major social networking sites which we are all familiar with, they are Facebook and Twitter. But my question is, how is Twitter better than Facebook?

Facebook has been around us since 2004 founded originally Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook from my point of view and many other teenagers is more of connecting with family members thing. Something Most teenagers nowadays don't look forward to! including me! (just kidding, I have Facebook but i don’t use it). Facebook is annoying at some point, how? The games invitations your “friends” keep sending you non stop every day of the week! Like no! No one wants to water your flowers on FarmVille! unfortunately there’s nothing you can do about those notification other than blocking your amazing friend, you wouldn't want that would you? Another thing. You will not make new friends in Facebook, i mean maybe just one or two but no, no friends. Having a Facebook account allows our parents to stalk us! I'm talking about from Mom and Dad to grandparents! Seriously, eventually you’re parents will force you to accept their friend request, now you are visible to everything you do on Facebook to them! Another thing about Facebook is the privacy, their privacy terms are always changing, constantly! its like you end up not having the privacy you expect, Facebook asks a lot of your private information including your address, well of course you don’t have to fill that in. Photo tagging, its another annoying thing in Facebook, most likely eventually you will get tagged in annoying or embarrassing pics of you! Just one last thing out of the list of how Facebook is bad, Facebook can be addicting! you will spend hours and hours and you just spend hours stalking your friends.

Now let me start with Twitter. This social great social network has been around since 2006 founded by a man named Jack Dorsey. Twitter is a open world! What do i mean by that? It means that you can see what everyone tweets! Everyone on twitter is open minded and creative. Twitter has a 140 character limit which will challenge to write “clear and conscience”. Twitter is the social network if you wanna keep update with news not only in your country but all around the world. if something important happens somewhere in the world, that something will start trending and it will be visible to you. One general point, Twitter is fun! Twitter is no place for a family thing, its you, your friends and the funny posts you will see daily. Twitter is not addicting, how? because you simply have to wait for content to appear, unlike wasting hours on Facebook because most of the time on Facebook you will see the same thing over and over. Twitter is also a place where you will meet new people, twitter is a place where you share your thoughts and a lot of people will see it causing you to make new friends! Twitter is also popular for the hash-tag linkage which will link other tweets that use the same hash-tag all in one place. Twitter is also a great place to talk to celebrities, yes famous people! all kinds! the chance that a famous person (favorite actor, actress or singer) will tweet you is a lot higher than that same person talking to you on Facebook and that's a plus! One last thing about twitter is the Ads! Twitter barely has any Ads, meanwhile Facebook is filled with those annoying Ads that no one cares! Specially you.

This would be my little compare and Contrast of very popular Social Networking, Twitter and Facebook. Also how twitter is a better networking site due to its simplicity and tools that makes it fun to use.

Tom Brady, the New England Patriots Quarterback is a future Hall of Famer for sure. Joe Montona the best Quaterback in NFL history which can be argued is always compared to Tom Brady. In this I will compare and contrast both..and tell you who's better and why !

Tom brady also known as the GoldenKid plays for the New England Patriots and is wreking the NFL with his elite skills. He's number, is number 12 and weighs 225 pounds that's a big man. Tom is very tall, he's 6'4 with a lot of experience in the NFL going on his 16 year. But before all that he went to college for Michigan than after went into the NFL mock draft in 2000, in which he got picked very late in the draft;he came six round the 199pick. Although with this he still had a superstar career and still is. Tom went to five superbowls, which was 2001,2003,2004,2007 and 2011; but only one three which was 2001,2003 and 2004. Tom Brady's break out year was 2007 were he broke a record for the most touchdowns(50) in a single season, which was later broke this year by Peyton Manning.

Joe Montana aslo known as Joe cool because of his relaxation and cool of the game. Joe is 6'2 and only 200 pounds and before he played on the San Francisco 49ers he played in college for Norte Dame. He entered the draft in 1979 and was drafted third round, the 82 pick overall. Joe Montana can call him god of football, he went to five superbowls 1981,1984,1988,1989 and 1994 and won all five of them; which makes him 100% in the superbowl..which makes him the most Quarterback with more than two rings. Joe Montana had a great..better yet outstanding career, the reason why he was inducted to the Hall of Fame in 2000.

So who's better? Let's put the information all together. Both went to five superbowls which is more than any other querterbacks, but only Joe Montana won all five. Even though Joe Montana was in the NFL for 16 years his winning percentage is 71.3% but Tom Bradys going on his 16 years and counting has a winning percentage of 74.6; it's mainly due to Tom Brady's regular season in '07 were he was 18-1. Joe and Tom both equally have 2 MVPS and comeback player of the year, so basically have the same awards. Tom Brady's QBR which is a overall grade for example passing and touchdowns, is 95.7 and Joe's is 92.3. But it comes to the conclusion that Joe is the better quetarback, because of the stuff he did in the NFL and the stats which Joe is slightly better because of the Superbowl wins. Tom is not far behind from Joe and actual is closer than most in the NFL now and the past. If Tom could of won those other two superbowls, would be the other way around. So yes throughout the research Joe is the better queterback.

The topic I will be talking about throughout this blog is cellphones. The two cellphones that I will compare and contrast are the iPhone 5S and the Samsung Galaxy S5. There has always been a debate about which of these two phones is better. Due to the fact that I am an iPhone owner, I would say that the iPhone 5S is better than the Samsung Galaxy S5, but is it really?

The iPhone 5S and the Samsung Galaxy S5 have many differences that I will be focusing on in order to compare and contrast them. These differences are: design, camera, specs and wireless, and the operating system. First I am going to start off with the design of both phones. The iPhone 5S is a slimmer phone than the Galaxy S5. Also, the iPhone has a 4-inch screen and 58.6mm across while the Galaxy S5 has a 5.1-inch screen and 72.5mm across. Although the Galaxy S5 is bigger than the iPhone 5S, it is easier to use the iPhone with one hand than the Galaxy with one hand. The iPhone is made by a frame that keeps it from being heavy and makes it feel solid. The Galaxy is plastic and has the pattern of a dimple. The Galaxy S5 is dust resistant and also waterproof. To be honest, that tops it, who wouldn’t want a waterproof phone? But, lets look at the other features to come to a complete conclusion of which phone is better. Both of these phones have a fingerprint reader at the home button. It is said that the iPhone has a more advanced operation than the Galaxy. This is due to the fact that on the iPhone, you just have to lay your finger flat on the home button and it works, but for the Galaxy you have to swipe your finger down on the screen in order for it to work, which is way more work than the iPhone fingerprint reader. Now I am going to move on to the camera of both phones. The iPhone has an 8MP rear-facing camera that makes some of the best pictures. Also, there is a two-stage flash that keeps the picture from being too dark or blown out. The Galaxy has a 16MP sensor but the problem with this sensor is that it takes a long time for the image to be acquired. The Galaxy also has a 4K video but that makes people worry about the space that they have on their phone.

    ReplyDelete
  4. The next feature I am going to move onto is the specs and wireless. The Galaxy has an ALOMED screen and also provides a light sensor that changes the brightness and also lets the ALOMED screen to change colors based on the environment. The iPhone has a lower and smaller resolution as well as a lower pixel density. When it comes to the wireless part, the Galaxy comes with a fast and new 802.11ac MIMO while the iPhone has an 802.11n for some hundred megabits per second. It is said that both of the phones are good once it comes to internet connection. The last feature that I will talk about is the operating system. The Galaxy S5 works with Android 4.4.2 KitKat that does not require all the unnecessary apps to be on the phone. The Galaxy also has a power saving mode that increase 10% of battery capacity to 24 hours when you set the screen to black and white and disable background services. The iPhone 5S works with iOS7, which has a totally different look than all the other iPhones had before. This new feature helps iPhone users to get things done way faster and easier. It is said that both iOS and Android have good ecosystems. Although the App Store on iOS7 has advanced games and way more and better apps, Android makes it up by letting its users customize their phone and by having amazing utilities.

That being said, which phone is better? It is clear that both phones are good and have way different features. If I really had to make a decision I would say that the Samsung Galaxy S5 turns out to be better than the iPhone 5S. (But, I will still stick to iPhones). There are many features on the Galaxy that I know many people would want! To get another opinion, online it states that the Galaxy S5 won the iPhone 5s because of its software, impressive screen, its sensors, and also the fact that its dust and water resistant. But, it also states online that the 5S is half way there so the Galaxy may only have a little time left to gloat.

Throughout this blog I’ll be comparing and contrast private schools along with public schools. State funded schools must hold fast to state measures in regards to what could be taught and how it is exhibited. Certain subjects, for example, religion and sexual practices are unthinkable. Decisions in numerous court cases throughout the years have decided what could be taught and how it is introduced in public schools. In private schools, they can show whatever they enjoy and present it in any way they please. Parents make the decision to send their kids to a particular school in which have a system which is very educational in which they are comfortable with along with appropriate for the children.Public and Private school are similar in which they both have a specific number of credits in subjects, such as, English, Arithmetic and science keeping in mind the end goal to graduate either elementary, middle or high school.Of course, they will be differences and similarities in the admission process. State funded schools must acknowledge all students within few exceptions. Conduct is a special cases, truly terrible behavior which must be reported very detailed. While, private schools, acknowledges any student by its academic and different measures. It is not needed to give a reason behind why it has declined to admit anybody. Both private and public funded schools utilize a testing and review transcripts to focus the evaluation level for new students.Graduation rates also differs in private as well as public schools. The rate of public funded school learners entering school after graduation has changed between 62-67% lately. The dropout rate openly schools has a tendency to have a negative impact on registration information. In private schools the registration rate is ordinarily in the 90-95% extent. Minority learners who go to a private secondary school are more inclined to go to school than minority people who go to state funded school. The motivation behind why most private secondary schools do well here is that they are by and large specific. They will just acknowledge students who can do the work. There are some slight contrasts between private and government funded schools. State funded teachers must be confirmed by the state in which they are instructing. Confirmation is allowed once statutory requirements, for example, instruction courses and showing practice are met. In many states private teachers can instruct without an instructing declaration. Most private schools favor educators to get confirmed as a state of vocation. Private schools have a tendency to contract instructors whom are experts in their subject with a degree.

  7. I will be comparing Cats to Dogs. This is one of the most controversial topics of them all (on which animal is the better pet). I believe cats are a better pet to own but others would beg to differ and say that dogs are better than cats. They have excuses like dogs are more playful and energetic than cats but that’s not fully true because there are cats just as playful. Other people would say cats are the better pets to own because they are less work to take care of. I’m going to compare and contrast the two animals but no matter what I still have my opinion on believing cats are better pets than dogs. But don’t get me wrong cats can do things dogs can’t and dogs can do things cats cant do. That’s how we are able to distinguish the two different animals by what both are capable of doing.

We all know both cats and dogs have four legs. We know both animals can hear things at a higher frequency than humans (humans can hear up to 23,000 Hz. Cats can hear up to 64,000 Hz and dogs can hear up to 45,000 Hz). So cats have better hearing than dogs, which is an added reason to why I believe cats are better than dogs. Cats practically sleep the whole day. They sleep for up to 16 hours. This can suck because when you’re in the mood to play around the cat is most likely sleeping, from my personal experience my cat tends to be up during night hours when I’m trying to sleep so it kind of takes away the fun from playing with it. Dogs on average sleep up to 10 hours a day, this is fair because they are more likely to be up when you’re up so therefor you can play around with them and do the things dog owners do. Dogs on average live up to 11 years and cats on average live up to 14 years. A lot of people would say they choose dogs because they are the most loyal pets a human could have but cats are just as loyal. Like on Wednesday may 14 2014 when a young boy was attacked by a neighbor’s dog and the boys cat came running to the rescue and scared off the dog. If that is not showing loyalty then I don’t know what loyalty is.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Unlike dogs cats walk differently than any other mammal (except for Giraffes and Camels but I’m not talking about them) cats walk symmetrically with their left limbs moving together in one sequence then followed by their right limbs. Both cats and dogs are not color blind. Dogs can’t see the range of colors other species can see and the same goes for cats. Cats can only see a limited range (or amounts) of color. Cats have a blind spot under their nose unlike dogs. Dogs have an extremely good sense of smell which scientist found out dogs have such a good sense of smell that they can sniff out electricity. Cats can’t smell that good but they 1-up the dogs by always being able to land on their feet. This has to do with the way the cats spines are set up because a cat can’t lay on its back.

To give more of a personal reason to why I believe cats are better than dogs, is because there are a lot of book on how to train your dog. If you can notice there are probably little to none books on how to train your cat. That just gives me an assumption that cats are smarter than dogs because you don’t have to put a lot of work into training them whereas dogs have a ton of books on how to train them and even professional dog trainers. That’s just my personal belief/thought to why I think cats are better than dogs (because they’re smarter).

Compare and Contrast on The Vampire Diaries and The Twilight Series

The Vampire Diaries is a supernatural tv series create by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, which premiered in Sept. 10 2009. It is about two vampire brothers Stefan (the righteous saintly turned one) and Damon ( the evil, crazy savage one) Salvatore who’d been alive for centuries, decided to return to their hometown of Mystic falls Virginia . Due to their return Mystic falls became the prime target for Vampires. On there stay their Stefan falls in love with a human teenager named Elena Gilbert whose best friend is a witch. At first when the show started it was a little boarding and people thought it was base on the Twilight series. They were truthy mistaking, as the season went on it became a love triangle between the brother and Elena. many crazy unexpected thing happen. various mystical creatures appeared in the show, which made it very interesting. You can never predict what happens next. It is nothing like the Twilight series.
The Twilight saga is romance fantasy film that has been broken up into five films, which are base of the book series by Stephenie Meyer. The first film came out on November 21 2008. The film is about a human teenage high school girl Isabella “Bella” Swan that falls for a vampire Edward Cullen, and who has a werewolf best friend that is in love with her Jacob Black. who for thousands of years had been at war with each other because werewolves and vampires and sworn enemies. The two enemies has called trice with Bells life. The day Edward turns her into a vampire the trice o broken and war shall restore.
I think that Vampire Diaries is better than Twilight because first of all Th V.D vampires can go out in the daytime using daylight rings that protects them for the sun. While the T.S vampires don't have the rings and when they are expose to the sun there are crystals ( like are you kidding me). The Vampires on V.D burn in the sun and turn into ash, unlike the T.S vamps that are made of ice. The vampire Diaries have a love triangle between the brothers and Elena she leaves the first brother an falls in love with the older one Damon because they are better for each other. While in the T.S Bella chose the vampire over the werewolf ( poor Jacob). Unlike The T.S the V.D plot is anonymous and still is as the season go by and it get crazier.I Mean they expose the ending in first movie like come on early. The Vampire Diaries have doppelgangers and crazy family history of love, power and betrayal while the Twilight series don’t. And not to forget that the Vampire diaries have witches and the Twilight saga don't.

    Love Vs. Infatuation

Throughout this blog I will be comparing and contrasting love and infatuation to prove that love is better than infatuation. Love and infatuation are often confused by people due to the fact they are both very intense emotions that a person feels for another. In my own words, love is a deep feeling of intense affection for someone else. Infatuation is more of an addiction or desire for someone else. Infatuation is associated with an uncontrollable desire that is often selfish, while love is associated with a ‘chemistry’ between two people over a long period of time. The ‘symptoms’ for infatuation are urgency, sexual desire and anxiety for being with their special person. The ‘symptoms’ for love are loyalty, confidence, willingness to make sacrifices for their special person and faithfulness. Infatuation feels like an addiction for the other person, while love feels like deep affection for the other person and pure happiness. The effect of infatuation is being controlled by the mind and not the heart, while the effect of love is being happy with the world and being controlled by the mind and heart. The time period of infatuation is not usually long, the feeling is deep but in time it is possible to forget. On the other hand, love only gets deeper and stronger in time. Also, it is not possible to ever forget due to the fact love is more attentive and unconditional than infatuation. Infatuation has no commitment while love has a commitment that lasts a lifetime. In other words, infatuation is delusional while love is real. In conclusion, love is better because is real, passionate, caring, faithful, loyal and many more great things while infatuation is more selfish and inpatient.

Micheal Jordan a former Chicago Bulls shooting guard was the best basketball player in the league at one point. Lebron James the Miami Heat small forward, and power forward. I will be comparing and contrasting both. How one player is better than the other and how Lebron James and Micheal Jordan are similar in some ways.

Micheal Jordan also known as Air Jordan was a former Chicago Bulls player and he was very well known for his talent on the court. His number is 23, he weighs about 195lbs that is very skinny just to let you know. Jordan is 6'6. He was in the league for 15 years. Micheal Jordan went to Emsley A.Laney high school and he was very talented as a player and went on to the university of North Carolina. He was drafted into the NBA as a 1st round pick by the Chicago Bulls in 1984. Micheal Jordan went to the NBA Playoff Finals 6 times and every year he went he won. He went in 1991,1992,1993,1996,1997,1998 and won. He also broke many records for averaging about 63 points per game.

Lebron James also known as King James is Miami Heat's Small forward, Power forward, and Shooting Guard. He weighs 240lbs that is too much for a NBA player. His height is 6'8 and he played for the Cleveland Cavaliers until 2010 when he was traded to the Miami Heat. He went to Saint Vincent-Saint Mary high school. Where his talents was known and was drafted out of high school in 2003 and was a 1st round pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Lebron James has been to the NBA Playoff Finals 2 years in a row and have won. They went in 2012 and 2013.

The comparison between Micheal Jordan and Lebron James are they are both players in the NBA and they both won many awards such as MVP ( most valuable player award). Also Lebron James and Micheal Jordan participated in the NBA all-star game. Also both of them were 1st round pick in the nba draft. But overall I feel that Micheal Jordan is a better player than Lebron James.

Compare and Contrast: Teen Wolf the movie & Teen Wolf the tv show

For this blog I will be comparing and contrasting Teen Wolf the movie and Teen Wolf the tv show. Teen Wolf the movie was released on August 23, 1985 while the tv show premiered on June 5, 2011. The movie stars Michael J. Fox and Jerry Levine. The tv show stars Tyler Posey and Dylan O'Brien. First, I will talk about Teen Wolf the movie. The movie is about a boy in high school named Scott who is not so lucky with the ladies or excels at being popular. He then discovers that he is a half human-wolf hybrid. Scott begins showing the characteristics of a wolf gaining long and sharp nails and also fur. Scott's father and best friend Stiles Stilinski help him control his wolf abilities and navigate everyday life. Now Scott tries to be somewhat popular by being apart of the basketball team but he still has no luck. When Scott discovers that he is a half human-wolf hybrid he uses it to his advantage. Scott's secret is soon unveiled and his new found abilities helps his basketball team become successful. Scott's sudden popularity also gets him attention from Pamela who is the girl of his dreams.
Teen Wolf the tv show is adapted from the film therefore having similar attributes in plot as well as the cast. The noticeable similarity is the leading actors. Tyler Posey and Dylan O'Brien both portray characters named Scott and Stiles. Tyler being Scott and Dylan being Stiles. Scott in the tv series also becomes a wolf while facing problems in high school. Scott and Stiles venture out into the woods one night and Scott gets bitten by a werewolf and soon becomes one himself. There are many positive changes that came with Scott becoming a werewolf. He becomes better at lacrosse and gets a confidence boost. His confidence boost allows him to get the attention of Allison Argent and they subsequently become a couple. Scott also finds controlling his anger difficult and enlists the help of his best friend Stiles.
Both the movie and the tv show have numerous similarities and differences. I will describe a couple of them. Similarities being both of the Scott's struggle in high school and finding love as well as the name of their best friend being the same. A difference is Scott in the movie has a good relationship with his father and Scott in the show has an estranged relationship with his father. Another difference is the manner in which they became werewolfs. Scott in the movie naturally became a were wolf while Scott in the show was bitten and therefore became a werewolf. Another similarity is the advantages that both of the Scotts receive like excellent sport abilities and confidence. It is difficult deciding which is better, the tv show or the movie because they're both special in their own ways and even though the plot lines are similar, scenes are differently portrayed and are not all the same.

TOPIC: 2013 Nissan Pathfinder vs. 2013 Toyota Avalon Limited
My Decision: The 2013 Toyota Avalon Limited is better than the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder

    Reasons:
The Nissan is medium size space and holds 7 people. The Avalon is full size space (way bigger than medium size space) and holds 5 people. With that being said, the Avalon would be a more comfitorable car to ride in because you have a very big car with only 5 seats hence, more leg space. When riding the Nissan, you won’t have no leg space. The Nissan is medium size car with 7 seats with no leg space.
The Avalon has 31 miles per gallon and holds up to 17 gallons. The Nissan has 26 miles per gallon and holds up to 19.5 gallons. If you do the math you will find that you will be able to travel 20 more miles (a farther distance) with the Avalon rather than the Nissan. You can travel 527 miles with an Avalon and 507 miles with the Nissan. Also you will spend less money on gas if you used an Avalon because you can travel more miles in one gallon than the Nissan can.
The Avalon is a much safer car than the Nissan. On a scale 5 stars being the safest, the Avalon got 5 stars and the Nissan got 4 stars. The Avalon has more safety features than a Nissan; active head restraints, daytime running lights, post-collision safety system, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and rear center 3- point belt and many more. The Nissan has 5 out of 16 less safe features than the Avalon.
The Avalon has more exterior features than the Nissan. The Nissan only has all-season tires and alloy wheels. While the Avalon has those two plus moonroof/ glass sunroof and power rear sunshade.
In conclusion the 2013 Toyota Avalon Limited is better than the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder because there is so much more space in an Avalon than a Nissan, you can travel farther distance with an Avalon than u can with a Nissan, the Avalon is more safe than a Nissan, and the Avalon has way more features than a Nissan.

I will be discussing the differences and comparisons between Ben & Jerrys ice cream and Cold Stone creamery. I personally perfer cold stone and I will gladly explain why. Both Ben & Jerry's and Cold Stone are Americanized ice cream shops. Ben & Jerry's manufactures only ice cream, frozen yogurt and sorbet.  While Cold Stone offers a variety of things such as: ice cream cake, pies, cookie sandwiches,  smoothies, shakes and blended coffee. They both offer lots of different types of ice cream flavors. Cold Stone personalizes your ice cream to your favor unlike Ben & Jerry's.  You can mix and match in cold stone when in Ben & Jerry's you're more limited and can't personalize your own ice cream. I personally like Cold Stone way better mainly because they let you pick & choose mix and match & combine your ice cream the way you desire which to me is pretty cool. I do also like Ben & Jerry's but its not my favorite as Cold Stone is. Another difference is the toppings, Ben & Jerry's doesn't offer as many toppings as Cold Stone does. And the fact that Cold Stone mixes the toppings onto the ice cream makes it even more enjoyable because you never run out of it. When in Ben & Jerry's you get toppings but there just on top of the ice cream and you usually finish them before you finish the entire ice cream, which I dislike a lot. Over all I perfer to go to Cold Stone creamery over because they let you customize your ice cream your way unlike Ben & Jerry's.

There are two welterweight boxers that many boxing fans compare and contrast with them, and always there is an argument of which one is the pound-for-pound king in today’s boxing. One is flashy, cocky and flamboyant. The other one is respected, calm and nice. The two boxers that I am going to compare and contrast and determine which one is the real and worthily pound-for-pound king in today’s boxing is Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. and Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao.

Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. was born on February 24, 1977, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He has a family boxing history with his father Floyd Sr. and his two uncles Jeff and Rodger Mayweather were successful professional boxers in their time. Floyd Mayweather Jr. struggled with problems in his family and he discovered boxing as a way to take out his frustration and problems around the family. In his early career he won the National Golden Gloves in 1993, 1994 and 1996, which made him known in the boxing scene that he was selected to join the U.S. boxing Olympic team in 1996 at the Olympic Games in Atlanta. He lost in a controversial decision that many boxing fans thought he should have won, but was forced to settle for a bronze medal. Mayweather turned professional on October 11, 1996 which he was trained by his father Floyd Sr. and his uncle Rodger Mayweather. Throughout the years of his career, he won so many championships in the welterweight, middleweight, featherweight and lightweight divisions. He also became a Pay-per-view sensation that most of his fights were in 1.5 million viewers through 2.3 million viewers. He defeated many future and notable hall of famers in boxing like Miguel Cotto, Shane Mosley, Juan Manuel Marquez, Oscar De La Hoya and Arturo Gatti, all of them former champions. His success led him to be the highest paid athlete in sports today behind others like Lebron James, Kobe Bryant and Tom Brady. Last thing that is important to know is that he is undefeated with a record of 46-0 in his successful boxing career and, that takes a lot of hard work and dedication how Mayweather always says it.

Then there is Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, which many boxing fans think that he could be the one who could challenge Mayweather and dethrone his undefeated record. Manny Pacquiao was born on December 17, 1978 in Kibawe, Philippines. He also had family problems like Mayweather did in the past. As a teenager, Pacquiao left his family and boarded a ship to Manila, Philippines in hopes of training as a boxer and launching a career in the sport. In age 16, he turned professional and started to become a well known boxer. Later he changed his trainer to a notable trainer named Freddie Roach who trains many elite boxers from today like Miguel Cotto, Julio Cesar Chaver Jr., Amir Khan and a Mixed Martial Artist Georges St. Pierre from the UFC, all of them became successful world champions. Freddie Roach and Manny Pacquiao were a great duo because Pacquiao was starting to win many notable elite and hall of faming boxers like Marco Antonio Barrera, Juan Manuel Marquez, Erik Morales, Oscar De La Hoya, Miguel Cotto and Juan Manuel Marquez, similar opponents that Mayweather has faced in his career. Pacquiao became champion in the flyweight, bantamweight, featherweight, lightweight, middleweight and welterweight divisions. He is a well respected and beloved boxer right now, and he is able to give fans what they want a knockout or fast-Speed aggression in the ring.

  17. Now with all the background information and all their success in the ring, I am going to give my opinion on who is better. Pacquiao defeated the same opponents that Mayweather did, but most of them when Pacquiao fought them, they lost their momentum and fire from their career that most of them were just old and sloppy. Like Oscar De La Hoya. Mayweather defeated him in his prime with his speed and accuracy that he easily defeated him even though De La Hoya was the aggressor. Then when Pacquiao faced De La Hoya, Del La Hoya was slow and was too old to face the young and powerful Manny Pacquiao. Another example is Juan Manuel Marquez, when he faced Mayweather, Marquez got knocked out many times and lost by decision, while Pacquiao fought Marquez 5 times with all them was a struggle and close fights for Pacquiao that in the 5th fight of their rivalry, Pacquiao got knocked out in the 6th round. Even though Pacquiao has 38 knockdowns and Mayweather only has 28, Pacquiao could easily get knocked out with a counter punch because he is too aggressive, but he is fast and has a powerful knockout punch, while Mayweather has accuracy and Speed to throw many punches that it’s hard for his opponents to counter it. And most important is the record of their boxing careers with Pacquiao having 56 wins, 5 losses, while Mayweather has 46 wins and 0 losses that he is undefeated in his boxing career, which all of them was no threat of losing. Even though Pacquiao won many champions in different divisions and different awards like the “fighter of the decade” award, Mayweather still accomplished more than Pacquiao by winning some “fighter of the year” awards, Championships, Golden Gloves, and a 1996 bronze Olympic medal. Every boxing fan wants to see Mayweather lose one day, but Pacquiao isn’t the one to dethrone Mayweather, which concludes my statement that Mayweather is the deserving Pound-for-Pound king in boxing today. If they ever fight one day, I’ll put my money on the line on Mayweather by unanimous decision.

Who is a better point guard better Chris Paul or Rajon Rondo?

Both Paul and Rondo are really good players but in my opinion I think rondo is a better point guard. First off rondo averages 11.9 points per game, 4.8 rebounds per game, o.1 blocks per game, 1.8 steals per game, .448 field goal percentage, and .597 free throw percentage; while Paul averages 19.8 points per game, 9.1 assists per game, 2.5 steals per game, o.1 blocks per game, 3.5 rebounds per game, .477 field goal percentage, and .861 free throw percentage. Based off these stats Rondo is a better rebounder, passer, and contributor while Paul is a better shooter and stealer. Also Chris Paul has never made it passed the western semi finals while rondo has made it to the eastern conference finals 3 times and won one championship out of those three times. Also rondo has 18 triple doubles while Paul has 11, also while facing each other rondo had won 3 more games. So in conclusion I believe rondo is better based off the player’s stats.

    Compare and Contrast

Every now and then comes a TV show that is very successful and exceptionally popular with TV audiences. Every season finale leaves you breathless and wanting more. Two TV shows noteworthy of this would be Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead. This blog will compare and contrast the two TV series.

Game of thrones is a fantasy television series that is broadcasted on HBO. The TV series is based of the Game of Thrones novel written by George R.R Martin. The first episode of season 1 was aired on April 17th, 2011. The show has become exceedingly popular and is even rated a 9.5 out of 10 on TV.com. In Game of thrones, Seven noble families battle for complete control over the land of Westeros. Blinded by their disgust and hatred for each other, the seven noble families fail to realize that the true enemy lies beyond the great walls that protects them all. I would love to talk more about what happens but I’m afraid it wouldn’t be able to fit in the blog. Just know that there are a lot of shocking moments that happen which Game of Thrones is mostly known for. One Game of Thrones most memorable moments would be the death of Eddard Stark. For pretty much half of season 1, the audience is led to believe that Eddard Stark was one of the main characters on the show and we all know that main characters do not die. For Game of Thrones that isn’t the case. Sadly, Eddard Stark was framed for a crime he did not commit and as a result he was beheaded for all to see. I still remember the shock that I felt when Eddard died and it was as that moment that I fell in love with the show. Although this show is a great show to watch, Game of Thrones does have its faults. For one thing, the plot of Game of Thrones is overly complicated. There are so many stories all happening at once and so many characters that it can be quite hard to follow. I find myself skipping through episodes because they don't have the characters I care about. Game of thrones can also be very sexually explicit at times which makes things awkward if you were to watch with someone. Game of Thrones is by no means a family show for it contains a lot of violence, sex, and foul language.

  20. The Walking Dead is a post-apocalyptic television series broadcasted on AMC. Like Game of Thrones, it is also based off of a book. It is based off of the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. On TV.com, it is rated an 8.5 out of 10. The Walking Dead starts off with Rick Grimes, a sheriff’s deputy, as he wakes from a coma only to find out that the world has been taken over by zombies. He decides to search for his son and wife and meets other survivors along the way. The Walking Dead is very entertaining and has a lot of suspenseful and scary moments and just like Game of Thrones, no one is safe and characters who you think aren’t going to die actually do end up dying. the only fault I have with this show is that it takes a while for the action to build up. There are times when the episodes can be a little dull because most of the scenes consisted of characters roaming around and talking with each other

If you ask me, I would say that Game of thrones is the better TV show. Once you get used to the overly complicated plot, you’ll get hooked on awesomeness that is Game of Thrones. You will come to love and hate the characters as they are introduced in the series and you will end up having a favorite character you you think should be the ruler of Westeros. Don’t get me wrong though. The Walking Dead is still a very good show to watch and it should be given a try.

What Instrument is most difficult to master, the saxophone or the Violin?

I came to a valid conclusion that the violin is the hardest instrument to master; it would take years to be in a master’s level and I will explain why.

Striving to be a musician is simply the best thing that someone can ever put themselves to do. Now, we come down to picking which instrument that’s when it gets a little tough. After several days maybe weeks you tend to decide which instrument you want and you go along with it. You take it, you practice and maybe your natural at it and get it quick or maybe not. The extra step that a good musician must take is master the instrument and that is what I’m going to be talking about in this blog; which instrument is harder to master between the saxophone and the violin. The saxophone is a instrument that I identify myself with because I play it, but looking into more details about it and where does it rank in terms of difficulty, the saxophone ranks under the violin in the Top #10 Master instruments. The saxophone is composed of three things that are needed for you to even get a note out of this instrument. It needs Proper posture, Reed which is needed to bring the sound out and of course; breathing exercises if your lungs are not used to the instrument. After having some grip of these things you must dive yourself into classes of music and theory and take years of practicing how to read notes, and the cuts and all this other stuff that will lead you to learn how to play the saxophone; but just because you know how to doesn’t mean you’re at a masters level. Charlie Parker; African American saxophonist played on a plastic saxophone; a role model for me and I’m sure for many musicians. What makes this man a master? How fast he will play and play it right. Whether it was 16th notes or 32th in Jazz, he knew how to do it well. Anyone can play the saxophone but to reach masters level takes numerous years estimated (10-15 years.) The violin, family of the viola and the cello is a 4 stringed instrument that is played by classical music and now a days in any style of music since it’s become the number #1 master instrument and most difficult to play. Everyone strives for this instrument for various reasons, to impress someone, to really play or just for the passion of music to become a master; which is what I’m striving for. In order to play the violin there are five things a person must have. Proper neck posture, hand flexibility, horse hair replacement (for the bow), rosin (so make the horse hair soft) and of course the violin. Why is this hardest instrument to play? Looking into http://www.thetoptens.com/hardest-instruments-play/, this website told me that besides these five things there’s more things that a person must do to prepare to go into the master levels of violin and that is (finger placements, correct pitch, left hand shifting techniques, bow hold, bow techniques, good sounding tone, etc) all of this is required to begging mastering this instrument. The comparison that I want to bring into this is that it takes more time to obtain a master level in the violin then the saxophone which is why there must be dedication and passion, and about 15+ years if you start early. Even though every instruments need diffrent skills and techniques to use; we need to evaluate it on the same level of the process and how long it would take to master it

    Compare and Contrast
My topic will be on shampoo. Shampoo is used by nearly 98% of America and it’s important towards everyone's health. I will be comparing and contrasting the Suave Naturals shampoo to Shea Moisture shampoo. My question will be which shampoo has more quality ingredients?
Suave Naturals shampoo has been used in America for more than 40 years. It’s been clinical proven that it is satisfactory for 65% of the customers who uses it. Due to the chemical ingredients it’s been said that suave has long term damage effect on the growth of hair. Also leaves bad split ends overtime. The ingredient that’s used in the process of making the shampoo is not 100% organic. In fact, it’s been said by customers that suave “breaks the edges of my hair”. One ingredient that I found in Suave Shampoo is called “methylisothiazolinone” this is a chemical substance that is very powerful that could kill or harm microorganisms. The biggest concern with this ingredient came to light when researchers conducted two recent laboratory studies on rat brain cells, and found that methylisothiazolinone caused damage to those cells. The researchers stated, “A brief exposure to methylisothiazolinone, a widely used industrial and household biocide, is highly toxic to cultured neurons….” The scientists went on to state that these toxic effects had been reported previously, and because of their widespread use, the consequences of chronic human exposure need to be evaluated. What was most concerning about this study was that the exposure was only 10 minutes long. That’s why I considered Suave Shampoo does not have more superiority ingredients.
Shea Moisture has been established in 1912, it’s sulfate-free which increases the density and thickness of hair. Suave had sulfate in it. Also, this shampoo contains no Gluten, Synthetic fragrance, Propylene glycol, parabens, paraffin, and no synthetic color. All of the ingredients are certified organic ingredients. This shampoo contains no Chemical substances within it. It’s been scientifically proven to be the most effective shampoo in terms of health and growth of hair. So in general, two thumbs up for Shea Moisture’s hair products! That’s why I discovered in my research that Shea moisture has more quality ingredients in it.

My Topic - Partying and Shopping

Something that interests me is partying and shopping. This interest me because I love to party and shop. The difference between them is that they're very different. They are different because when I party I dance and when I go shopping I buy clothes and spend a lot of money.

Partying is something you do when you want to have some fun. When you go to a party you dance a lot and hang out with your friends. In some party’s people like to sit around and do hookah and drink. For example when I go partying I just go to dance I don’t smoke or drink like the other’s. When I go out to parties I TURN UP no turn down. I go all out to have fun and make the night unforgettable. I love to hang out with my friends at parties and make jokes about how some people dance.

Shopping is very different compared to partying. When I shop am spending money and hours looking for clothes and sometimes that can be boring. When I go shopping sometimes I don’t find anything and I get very aggravated. I spend unnecessary money sometimes and go over the limit with buying clothes. For example I spend about 200 dollars on true religion jeans and about 50 dollars on the tee shirts. To many people think that I spend a lot of money and I think its true but I love to dress. I like to always look nice and have nice clothes even though its expensive. I pay everything for myself I dont ask my mom to get it for me because she will be mad that I spend that much money but she does the same thing.

when it comes to my interest those are my favorite things to do. I love to party and shop even though it can get tiring sometimes but its like a stress free thing I get a lot of things off my mind either when am partying or shopping.
